SIGMOD Submission Guidelines For Industrial Papers
For each paper, authors must submit the papers by
November 8th (5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time). Please
note that the scope of industrial track is quite different from that of research track and the
prospective authors should review the Call for Papers carefully prior to submission.
Papers must be submitted electronically using the
Conference
Management Tool For Industrial Papers. When the
paper is submitted, the submission site will also
solicit information about the contact author. This
information will be used for SIGMOD administration
purposes, e.g., to notify authors of the outcome of the
submission. If an author has to change the contact
information, he or she should e-mail the program chair.
Length and Layout
Both submissions for refereeing and final copy for the
proceedings must be laid out according to the Camera
Ready Copy format. For details see Camera-Ready
Copy Formatting Instructions below. It is the author's
responsibility to make the paper readable, relevant and
interesting before submission for consideration by
referees. This includes legibility of diagrams and
quality of English.
The prospective authors are reminded that
due to limited resources, the industrial track committee will not
be able to provide detailed reviews back to authors. Only notification
of acceptance or rejection may be expected. This is in contrast to the
research track.
Page Limit: All submitted papers should be a maximum of
five US letter pages when presented in the two-column
Camera Ready Copy format used in SIGMOD proceedings.
This includes all parts of the paper: title, abstract,
body, bibliography and appendices. ANY PAPER NOT IN THIS
FORMAT OR EXCEEDING THIS 5-PAGE LIMIT WILL NOT BE
REFEREED, BUT WILL BE REJECTED OUTRIGHT.
Note that every industrial track paper must contain the author's name and affiliation.
Thus, in contrast to the research track, industrial track submissions
should NOT hide author information.
Camera-Ready Copy Formatting Instructions
Here are guidelines for formatting and submission of
your papers. This year, all submissions to SIGMOD will
be in the camera-ready format. The page format must be
double-column and single-spaced in 9pt or larger font.
Please submit a PDF or Word version of your manuscript,
formatted for 8 1/2" x 11" paper, following the ACM
proceedings formats referenced at the end of this
paragraph. Proceedings templates are available in Word,
WordPerfect, and LaTeX (v. 2.09 and 2e). These templates
are located at:
http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.
For the LaTeX formats, you may use either the standard style
or the SIG-alternate style, which is more efficient.
Note: Although the ACM templates include headings for "Categories and
Subject Descriptors," "General Terms," and "Keywords," these are not used by
SIGMOD and can be omitted from your submitted paper.
Papers must be in PDF or Word. It is essential that they print
without difficulty on a variety of printers. Therefore, authors must be sure that any
special fonts are included, etc. It is the absolute
responsibility of the authors to ensure that their
submitted paper is in PDF or Word and will print easily.
Authors of accepted papers will need to sign an ACM
copyright release form and present their paper at the
conference.
Duplicate Submissions
Duplicate submissions are not allowed for the SIGMOD
conference. A paper submitted to SIGMOD cannot be under
review for any other conference or journal, and has to
be substantially different from previously published
work. Duplicate submissions will be rejected. Questions about
this policy or how it applies to your work should be
directed to the program chairperson,
Surajit Chaudhuri.
